Hydrators add water. If the barrier has no fats to hold that water in, skin still feels tight by midday. Omega fatty acids replace the lipids the barrier is built from, which is what stops the moisture escaping.
A stronger barrier means less reactivity
An intact lipid barrier keeps irritants out and water in. As it rebuilds, skin stings less with actives, flakes less in winter and looks less red after cleansing.
Glow is a light reflection effect
Botanical oils and Vitamin E smooth the surface so light reflects evenly rather than scattering off dry, lifted cells. That is why the change in radiance is visible from the first few applications.
