A single-weight hyaluronic acid only sits on the surface. Multi-weight hyaluronic acid holds water at the surface and deeper in the upper layers, so hydration lasts through the day instead of evaporating within an hour.
Dehydration is what makes lines look worse
Most fine lines look deeper when the upper layers are short of water. Refilling that water plumps the surface, which is why creasing around the eyes and mouth softens visibly within days rather than months.
It makes your other actives tolerable
Well-hydrated skin has a stronger barrier, so Vitamin C and Retinol sting less and can be used more often. This is the layer that should go on first, on damp skin.
